Meet Hanneke
Director & Travel Designer
Introducing Hanneke, an adventurer fueled by a deep passion for her home country of Namibia. Born and raised amidst its breathtaking landscapes, Hanneke’s love for travel sparked at an early age, nurturing an appreciation for the magic of African journeys.
After studying and working in marketing and film production in Cape Town, South Africa, for 13 years, Hanneke felt a strong pull to return to her roots. In 2008, she moved back to Namibia to start a family and reconnect with the land that had always held her heart.
A pivotal moment occurred in 2018 when her husband’s company, African Wanderer, needed a new leader. Driven by her innate curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit, Hanneke stepped forward to embrace the challenge of small business ownership, embarking on an exciting new chapter in her life.
When Hanneke isn’t busy crafting captivating safari itineraries, she enjoys experimenting in the kitchen (with mixed results) or bumping along gravel roads in search of hidden gems and thrilling adventures.
She lives in Windhoek and shares her life with her two lively young boys, her devoted and dashing husband, and a charming Irish Wolfhound named Bones.
