Meet Hanneke
Director & Travel Designer
Introducing Hanneke, an adventurer fuelled by an unwavering passion for her home country of Namibia. Born and raised amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Namibia, Hanneke’s love for travel ignited at an early age, fostering a profound appreciation for the enchantment of African journeys.
After pursuing studies and working in marketing and film production in Cape Town, South Africa, for 13 years, Hanneke felt a magnetic pull back to her roots. In 2008, she returned to Namibia to start a family and reconnect with the land that had always held her heart.
In 2018, a pivotal moment arrived when her husband’s company, African Wanderer, needed a new leader. Encouraged by her innate curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit, Hanneke stepped forward to take on the challenge of small business ownership and embarking on an exciting new chapter of her life’s journey.
When Hanneke’s not engrossed in crafting captivating safari itineraries, you’ll find her experimenting in the kitchen (with mixed results) or bumping along gravel roads, searching for hidden gems and finding fantastic adventures.
She shares her life with her two lively young boys, her devoted and dashing husband, and a charming Irish Wolfhound named Bones.
