Day 1

Day of Arrival - Boteti River Valley (Makgadikgadi Pans NP)

Day of Arrival - Boteti River Valley (Makgadikgadi Pans NP)

We will meet you on arrival at the Maun airport. Then, board your light aircraft flight to Leroo La Tau on the edge of the Boteti River. Spend two nights at Leroo La Tau in one of our spacious chalets overlooking the Boteti River and Makgadikgadi Pans National Park.

Leroo La Tau

Leroo La Tau (2 nights)

Leroo La Tau is situated on the western bank of the Boteti River, which forms the boundary of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. The Boteti River provides a lifeline for the wildlife which inhabit the arid national park and is a critical link in the annual zebra migration. Leroo La Tau is the perfect base from which to explore this truly unique piece of Botswana paradise. The lodge features twelve luxurious thatched and glass-fronted suites with en-suite bathrooms, each unit raised on a wooden platform overlooking the Boteti River Valley below. The main lounge and dining area, with its inviting wooden and thatch finish, allows you to relax at the bar while listening to the wide variety of night sounds so characteristic of the African bush. Alternatively you can lounge around the swimming pool or enjoy the panoramic river vista from the game-viewing hide built into the bank of the river.

Day 2

Boteti River Valley (Makgadikgadi Pans NP)

Boteti River Valley (Makgadikgadi Pans NP)

The Makgadikgadi Pans National park includes a portion of the 12000km2 Makgadikgadi Pans. This massive pan was once believed to be the bed of an enormous inland lake. Owing to the arid nature of the park, the Boteti river and the nutrient-rich western grasslands supply the essential water and sustenance for the wildlife that inhabit the region. This dramatic landscape is the backdrop for the second-largest zebra migration in the world, where thousands of zebra migrate to the Boteti River in the dry winter months (May to Oct) from their summer grazing ground further inside the park. The contrast between the Boteti River Valley and the arid National Park makes it a fascinating region to include in a Botswana safari.

Day 3

Boteti River Valley - Moremi Game Reserve

Boteti River Valley - Moremi Game Reserve

After your last morning activity with Leroo La Tau, you will catch your light aircraft flight over the Okavango Delta to the Moremi Game Reserve. You will spend two nights at Camp Xakanaxa (or alternatively Camp Moremi) in a luxury tent. Both camps are set within the Xakanaxa region of the renowned Moremi Game Reserve. Activities on offer include daily game drives within the Moremi Game Reserve and motorboat safaris through the deepwater channels to explore the Okavango Delta. The Moremi Game Reserve is a wilderness paradise, with excellent game-viewing throughout the year.

Camp Xakanaxa

Camp Xakanaxa (2 nights)

The prime location of Camp Xakanaxa (pronounced Ka-ka-na-ka) on the banks of the Khwai River on the Xakanaxa Lagoon, in the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve, makes it one of the very few safari camps that offers guests an authentic, year-round Okavango Delta land and water safari experience. The camp accommodates twenty-four guests in eleven spacious all-canvas, classic Meru-style luxury safari tents and one two bedroom family tent, each with en suite showers, hand basins and toilet facilities. Situated around the fringe of the lagoon, every tent has a private viewing deck with comfortable loungers. Camp Xakanaxa is one of the few camps in Botswana which still offers the essence of a classic tented camp.

Day 4

Moremi Game Reserve

Moremi Game Reserve

The Moremi Game Reserve is situated in the eastern part of the Okavango Delta, on the south-western border of the Chobe National Park, and covers almost one-third of the Delta. With such a wide variety of vegetation comes a diverse spectrum of wildlife. The reserve is home to over 400 bird species, including the African Fish Eagle, the Crested Crane and the Sacred Ibis. This wide variety of mammal, bird, insect, plant, fish and reptile species have successfully adapted to the swamp conditions. During the dry season, the congregation of all species along permanent rivers and waterholes makes Moremi Game Reserve one of Africa's most unforgettable wildlife experiences.

Day 5

Moremi Game Reserve - Chobe Riverfront

Moremi Game Reserve - Chobe Riverfront

Departing the Moremi Game Reserve, you will catch your aircraft transfer to Kasane. On arrival in Kasane, you will be met and transferred to the river, where you will clear Botswana customs and meet your Chobe Savanna Lodge guide. Once on the river, you will enjoy a magnificent boat transfer up the river to Chobe Savanna Lodge, stamping into Namibia on your way up. Spend two nights at Chobe Savanna Lodge in one of our airconditioned chalets in a remote Chobe setting. Guests can enjoy the exceptional wildlife that frequents the Chobe River's banks on morning and afternoon boat cruises. Ideal for wildlife photographers and birders, the Chobe Savanna Lodge boats allow you to explore the far reaches of the Chobe River. Fishing and visits to the local community complete the Chobe Savanna Lodge experience.

Chobe Savanna Lodge

Chobe Savanna Lodge (2 nights)

Situated in the Eastern Caprivi, Zambezi Province of Namibia, a narrow strip of country on the northern bank of the Chobe River, Chobe Savanna Lodge overlooks the vast floodplains of the Chobe National Park’s Puku Flats. The Chobe River is home to large herds of Elephant, Buffalo and Hippo, as well as dense concentrations of other wildlife – including the rare Puku antelope – which come down to the river’s edge to drink and graze.

Day 6

Chobe Riverfront

Chobe Riverfront

Wake up to the breathtaking beauty of The Chobe Riverfront with its lush plains and dense forest. The Chobe River forms the northern border of the incredible Chobe National Park. This park supports the most significant surviving elephant population in the world today. The park also hosts high densities of predators such as lion, leopard, spotted hyena and cheetah and unusual antelope species such as roan, sable, puku, tsessebe, eland, red lechwe, waterbuck, and the rare Chobe bushbuck.
